The LEGO Education 9686 base set contains a brick assortment and lesson materials for exploring design engineering with simple and more advanced mechanisms, structures, and forces. This set can be used in combination with the accompanying curriculum pack to promote pupils' fundamental understanding of simple and powered machines, structures, and mechanisms. The curriculum pack (available free-of-charge as a download) provides full lessons, extension activities, and problem-solving tasks, as well as teacher guides and pupil worksheets.

The Simple and Powered Machnines set includes 396 LEGO Technic elements for creating a broad range of models that cover concepts such as forces and motion, measuring, energy and structure. The set is delivered in a sturdy storage bin that includes a sorting tray. A motor is also included to allow children to build self-propelled machines - adding a totally new dimension of teaching opportunities to the solution. The curriculum pack contains full lesson plans, extension activities and problem-solving tasks, a teacher guide and worksheets for the students. You can download the curriculum for free. There are 2 levels:
- primary schools (introduction): 9 - 12 years
- middle schools - secondary (advanced): 12 - 15 years
LEGO Technic 9686 with motor - for primary schools and secondary education
The LEGO Education Technic 9686 kit includes also a motor to allow pupils to bring all models in motion and to study characteristics like speed, acceleration, energy consumption etc.. This great kit can be even further extended with the "Pneumatics set" (art 9641) as well as the "Renewable Energy set" (art 9688).

Mooie en uitgebreide educatieve set die we op onze school gebruiken in de technieklessen groep 7 en 8. Veel boekjes met bouwvoorbeelden zijn bijgesloten en op de lego education site staan nog veel meer lesplannen.
